Make the website take up the full screen

Some of the information on this website has been added as documents you can download or view online. This information is usually available to you in Portable Document Format (PDF), but you may also find Word documents.

Free software is available to view these file types.

To view or download PDF files you need to have Adobe reader software. Please visit the Adobe website to download this free of charge.

If you do not have Word on your computer you can download a free reader from the Microsoft website. The page provides all the information on what you will need to run this programme and how to download and install it on your computer.

We try to keep document sizes reasonable so they don’t take too long to open on your computer. If a file is large it may take a few minutes to download on a standard 56k internet connection.

Change the font size

These instructions may also work for other versions of the same web browser.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 and 7.0

Open your browser.
Choose the drop down menu at the top of the browser window marked View.
A list of options will appear in the drop down menu. Choose the Text Size option.
Next another drop down menu should appear with options including Smallest, Smaller, Medium, Larger, Largest.
The browser will normally be on the Medium setting.
To increase the font size select Large or Largest.
To decrease the font size select Smaller or Smallest.

Firefox

Open your browser.
Choose the drop down menu at the top of the browser window marked View.
A list of options will appear in the drop down menu. Choose the Text Size option.
Next another drop down menu should appear with options including Increase, Decrease and Normal.
The browser will normally be on the Normal setting.
To increase the font size select Increase.

Safari

Open your browser.
Choose the drop down menu at the top of the browser window marked View.
A list of options will appear in the drop down menu. Choose the Make Text Bigger option.

Netscape Navigator 6.2 and 7.0

Open your Netscape browser.
Hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and press the plus (+) key. You will find that this will enlarge the text.
To increase the size further, repeat this until the text is enlarged to your requirements.
If you need to make the text smaller press Ctrl on your keyboard and the minus ( - ) key.

Full screen

You can remove the toolbar from your web browser and make the website take up the full screen. To view the full screen and remove some of your browser's navigation bars, press the F11 key once. Press it again to return the navigation bar and the original view of your browser.
