George

George

We provided funds from rescue for George, a five month old Malinois. His previous owners didn't take him for treatment after he had been hit by a car and sustained a badly broken leg.

It was looking likely that this pup would lose his leg, until we contributed to the cost of plates and drugs needed during the operation to fix it.

A massive thank you to the vet who, free of charge and in her own unpaid time, carried out surgery to re-break and fit plates to the bones and provided post-op x-rays and after care bandage changes.

Ollie

Ollie

Ollie was wandering the streets over the winter of 2009 and was picked up by Manchester Dogs home, but was fostered and rehomed by us. He was very underweight and in a poor condition. However this hasn't affected his spirit at all. He was, and continues to be, full of life and enthusiasm. He now lives with a family of humans, dogs and cats!

Frost

Frost

This handsome lad is frost. He was given to us by his previous owner who had a new wife and kids who didn't like him. A lovely dog with no vices, his new owners are very proud of him.

Marley

Marley

This is Marley. He was given to a dog rescue in Hull, aged 5 years and had spent most of his life in a crate as his owner worked long hours. They contacted us for help. Rehomed to Jo, who works in a livery yard, he now gets all the exercise he needs and soon shed those unwanted pounds.

Poppy

Poppy

Found straying the streets of Sheffield, the RSPCA contacted us. She was approximately 12 years old when she came to us, although she doesn't look it in this photo. A bit of a madam with other dogs, we eventually rehomed her to a retired lady in Scotland.

Two Tervuerens These two Tervuerens were brought into rescue at different times by their owners, but are best buddies.

Shadow

This is shadow and a letter from his new 'mum'.

Remus

Remus

This is Remus meeting his new 'mum'. He was given to us by a family who had a desperately ill premature baby who needed to be in hospital for several weeks. Realising they would have to spend all their time there, they reluctantly came to the decision to part with him. He's now slimmed down and goes to training and agility classes.

Kirsty

Kirsty

Kirsty was a difficult dog to rehome as she didn't like children.

Oboe

Oboe was bought as a small puppy by a couple who were both lawyers. They found him to be very destructive as he was left long hours and trashed the house. They did love him but realised he just wasn't getting the attention he needed. Rehomed to a family who have taken him to training classes and have plenty of time and energy for him, he no longer feels the need to wreck.

Sasha

Sasha

Sasha was taken into a police station found straying. The person that handed her in said she was a Groenendael - funny that, not many members of the general public would know what a Groenendael looked like. Matted and coat soiled with diarrhea she was weak, but, after a little wariness, very friendly. Her new folks soon nursed her back to good health and she now lives with them and their two other dogs.

Brandy

Brandy was caught by a railway policeman on the railway lines near Paragon Station, Hull. She was extremely lucky he cared enough not to leave her to her chances. Jerry Green Sanctuary helped us kennel and rehome her.
